Transgression [Death/Grind]
Anfang 1997 wurde TRANSGRESSION auf die initiative von Rene´ gegründet. Man hat gut ein halbes Jahr und ca. 1 Dutzend Drummer gebraucht um zu einer guten Formation zu gelangen. Diese setzte sich aus dem Initiator Rene´ Hollweg (28, Gitarre), Dave Steffens (28, Bass), Andreas Westphal (28, Gesang), die alle drei schon mal zusammen in einer Band namens ASMODINA gespielt hatten, Carsten Koch (26, Gitarre) und Michael Pohl (26, Drums) zusammen. In dieser Zusammensetzung absolvierten wir einige Konzerte im Kölner Raum. Unter anderem spielten wir mit Crack Up , Cruentus (Italien, R.I.P.) Dew-Scented und Solitary Confinment, wo wir durchweg sehr gute Reaktionen auf unser Material erhielten. Nach nur 1 Jahr trennten wir uns wegen Musikalischen und persönlichen Differenzen von unserem Sänger. Kurze zeit später packte auch unser Drummer die Sticks ein und verließ die Band zugunsten eines Auslandstudiums. Auf der suche nach einem geeigneten Ersatz besann man sich auf alte Tage und fand mit dem ex-ASMODINA Drummer Arkadius Neumann (29) einen mehr als würdigen Nachfolger. Anfang 1999 fand man dann mit Lars Zimmermann (23) auch endlich den passenden Ersatz am Mikro.
Was macht ihr für Musik ?
Mit dem neuen Line-Up überarbeiteten wir noch einmal unsere bisherigen stücke, welche bis dato eher in die Ecke melodischer Death/Trash gingen. Unseren jetzigen Stil sehen wir selbst, als einen Mix aus Deicide, Cannibal Corpse und Morbid Angel….es gibt auch Leute die Bands wie Sinister oder Napalm Death und neuere Testament bei uns raushören Nicht das wir versuchen zu klingen wie eine dieser Bands, es ist nur eher die Schublade in die wir uns am ehesten selber reinstecken würden. Wir denken das unsere stücke, auch wenn sie recht unterschiedlich klingen, doch unseren eigenen Charakter besitzen. Habt ihr schon Material auf dem Markt ? Ja, Anfang Juni `99 nahmen wir in Eigenregie unser erstes Demo „First Demo(n)“ auf, welches sehr gute Kritiken bei verschiedenen Magazinen bekam (u.a. online unter metal-district.de) und über Morbid Records vertrieben wird. Im März 2000 haben wir eine 4-Track CD mit 8-Spur Technik im Gladbecker Timeship Studio aufgenommen, welche sehr gute reviews einheimste. Geplant sind, für die Zukunft eine Full-Length-CD aufzunehmen… hierfür suchen wie noch die Unterstützung einer Plattenfirma….!!??
Kann man euch auch Live erleben ?
Klar doch, seit Herbst `99 sind wir auch wieder Live präsent. Unsere ersten Konzerte haben wir in unserem heiligen Städtchen selbst organisiert und haben uns damit auf die große weite Welt vorbereitet Dies wurde uns auch am 23 Dezember mit dem 2.ten Platz beim Leverkusener Musikwettbewerb bestätigt. Danach folgten dann die ersten Konzerte zusammen mit Fleshless, Godless Truth, Vomit Remnants, Vader, Stormcrow, Baron, Suffocated Art, Eternal Frost, Morbus Crohn, Frozen Illusion,Krisiun und anderen…

Wir sind immer an Auftrittsangeboten interessiert, schreibt uns wenn ihr eine Location kennt, oder wenn ihr Konzerte organisiert wo wir mal aufspielen könnten….solange uns keine unkosten entstehen kommen wir überall hin, ein wenig Spritgeld, was zu essen und trinken…evtl. eine Schlafmöglichkeit und wir sind dabei…….support the Underground !!

Twelve Gauge [Death/Speed]
Twelve Gauge formed out of the ashes of a band called Warhead that became defunct in the early 90’s. Warhead played speed/death metal and had started in 1989 with the same 3 members that eventually reformed as Twelve Gauge in June 2001. The band members hadn’t even played together since 1994. The only thing about this line up that was different was that Nick Warhead, formerly the guitarist of Warhead, after feeling a bit burned out by the same pseudo-slayer grinding in E, decided to pick up the bass guitar. At the same time Eric Lofquist, once the bass player of Warhead had come to the conclusion that bass just wasn’t his bag, picked up a guitar. Although Nick and Eric had been jamming off and on together since 1995, and did the Warhead 2000 project (Nick this time on Drums, just another instrument he plays) in 1999, Dan just got back into drumming again in 2000 and was in the process of looking for a band. The idea was thrown around for sort of a “warhead” reunion. The first jam was in June 2001, and even though it didn’t exactly sound like the old Warhead, it was something definitely new and original.
With Eric Lofquist taking over guitar duties, it lent for a more creative mood to the songs then the previous Warhead material, concentrating on being creative with fewer parts, instead of playing everything a million miles an hour. Not that they aren’t fast. It’s just not the whole point of the music. The songs have taken on kind of a “Punk-like” attack with an odd flavoring of old school “NWOBHM” metal, then sometimes shifting to a death/speed metal type of sound.
Nick Warhead, at first had a difficult time coming to grips with a new instrument, plus barely using his voice in 5 years. It took awhile to get in the groove and feel comfortable, but has now is concentrating on tasteful bass runs, all while spewing forth a maniacal dose of socio-political lyrics which he pens. It’s just the things that piss them off.
Dan Kobilka has been playing drums since the early 80’s, starting with rudiments and jazz band in school and got into punk/metal back in the middle 80’s. Practicing along with the likes of Slayer & DRI helped him form his amazing chops. Single stroke rolls & double bass are standard issue in the Twelve-Gauge sound, but the parts aren’t just all speed, with many creative structured parts developing in the music.
The band released their debut CD “Violent New World” in June 2002, along with some headlining shows in support. The band are also working on a follow up to “Violent New World” for release sometime in 2003. Keep a look out for the band’s events coming soon…..

Vuist [ThrashDeath]
The foundations of the ‘VUIST-horde’ go back to may 2000 when it was founded by Rik (Dark Remains), Edo and Rob. With some gigs planned in the near future Erik (Demalion) teamed up with VUIST in april 2002. During the same year the ‘Megaknuppelinferno’-promo’s ( Live & Unlive) were recorded in order to capture and preserve the Thrash / Death-oriented creations. After a few gigs Ronald (Demalion/ex-Aces) was added to the live-line up, hereby making it possible for Rob to focus himself on the vocals.
September 2003 saw the release of VUIST’s debutalbum MiStorMelancholy. To promote this CD, VUIST will head for several venues and present their Death Thrash Metal to the Headbangers of all Nations.
In january 2004 our search for a permanent bassplayer ended when Jeff (ex-Rouwen) joined VUIST.

Warchild X [Melodic DeathMetal]
Warchild X wurden im Januar 2001 nach dem Split der Vorgängerband Decay gegründet. Das Ziel war es, eine Band zu gründen, die mehrere Stile in sich vereint: Melodisch harten Metal, aber offen für jegliche Einflüsse, um sich stetig weiterentwickeln zu können. Der Haupteinfluss der Band sind Bands wie Children of Bodom aus Finnland, doch inzwischen haben Warchild X ihren eigenen Stil entwickelt.

Widow [Power/Death]
From the ashes of Sorrow Bequest, The Widow’s Lust was formed in the winter of 2000. Guitarist Cristof got together with drummer Mike and decided to form the group to express their vision of horror. Johnny and Joshua also possessed the same dark ideas and their union was inevitable.
The group is influenced by many of their own experiences, plus groups such as King Diamond,Crimson Glory, Warlord, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and Yngwie Malmsteen. The Widow’s Lust explores the neo-classical side of heavy metal combined with their death metal roots. The morbid personality of each member comes together to form the unique sound of the band.
The Widow’s Lust has completed their debut recording, entitled No Stone Unturned, in the Summer of 2002. A worldwide release is imminent. The macabre songs bring to life the wicked, perverse thoughts that delight each member from day to day. The world should fear the unspeakable horror that is The Widow’s Lust.
