Stranglehold was founded in 1999 out of the ashes from 3 Ain’t Bad.

Former members Lorenzo Augusti (guitar, vocals) and Corina Stokmans (drums) have found the bass player in (the person of) André Kässinger.

After many years of searching singer Rik Wullaert completed the band in 2002.

Although their style of music is hard to describe, they like to call it Hard-‘N-Heavy.

Stranglehold has recorded several demo’s – under which one live registration – and a self-financed mini CD.

At this moment Stranglehold is preparing for the recording of a new demo/CD and rehearsing to present the new material to the public.

Stranglehold has already proven their live reputation but there’s always room for more.

The band SYMMETRY appeared of the ashes of the extinct band catarinense MADNESS, founded in Joinville in the year of 1991, and, the same had already possessed previously other two names “TRAUMA and NEW ORDER”. The activities of the band continued to the year of 1997, whose only purpose was just to play covers of bands as: Iron Maiden, Helloween, Ozzy Osbourne, Metallica, Scorpions, etc.

The two members of the band MADNESS, “Milton Maia and Jurandir Junior” in the middle of 2001 they decided to set up a band to play Heavy Metal and that it went strange the all of the idioms that are devastating and saturating the musical market, to compose music to be among Heavy Metal melodic, traditional and progressive, and, soon soon afterwards they were integrated the band “Nâna Oliveira” in drummer’s position and guitarist “Alceu Marques”, where finally the band appeared SYMMETRY.

In May of 2002 guitarist Alceu Marques, left the band due to private problems and for his/her place guitarist Ney Soteiro was invited.

The band still longed for and it sought for a keyboard player from his/her formation in October of 2001 to complete the line-up, when in June of 2002 Lincoln Pompermaier it was approved for keyboard player’s position, completing like this the formation initially wanted and joining musically for the perfect acting of the proposed musical style.

The intention of the band, is to have a sound own, peculiar, with an only identity, playing own music and covers, with a lot of professionalism and quality looking for to reach and to improve the level continually in the compositions of the music, to that to continue maintaining and elevating the fidelity, respect and passion more and more for Heavy Metal!!!

Geboren wurden wir an einem regnerischen Abend, 1986 im Z6 – Café. Das heißt – die Idee wurde geboren. Zu spielen fingen erst ca. 2 Jahre später an, als wir die geeignete Mannschaft und dann auch noch einen tollen Proberaum in der katholischen MK hatten.

Wir könnten also eigentlich schon das X Jubiläum feiern, tun wir aber nicht! Aus Solidaritätsgründen! Außerdem können wir auch ohne Feiern lustig sein.

Na ja, wir probten also Anfangs katholische Songs um die Mönche in der MK nicht zu verärgern, (stimmt gar nicht!) als wir Weihnachten 1988 von den Tonart – Menschen auf die Zirmbach – Alm zu unserem ersten Konzert geladen wurden.

Wir schlugen damals ein wie ein Vorschlaghammer, die Kühe sind noch heute beeindruckt, und es nicht bewiesen, daß nicht doch wir Schuld an der BSE – Krise haben.

Weil wir gerade dabei sind: Mittlerweile haben wir fast 80 Konzerte auf dem Buckel und mindestens 2 Staatspolizeiliche Untersuchungen.

Kurz nach dem Weihnachtskonzert – das wir die nächsten Jahre auch pünktlich wiederholten – traten wir dann auf dem legendären Sid Vicius Konzert auf, welches uns schlagartig in die Top 100 der Innsbrucker Punk Bands katapultierte. Trotz des absehbaren Welterfolges blieben wir auf dem Boden und änderten unseren Lebensstiel kaum. Wir – das waren damals noch Kermit, Roberto, Gonzo und Lemi – überließen die Major – Deals Bon Jovi und den anderen, und musizierten fröhlich weiter.

Wir nahmen eine kleine Kassette auf, nannten sie “Rette deinen Arsch” und waren bis auf weiteres sehr, sehr glücklich.

Bis es dann soweit war und Sänger und Gitarrist Lemi aus Unfähigkeitsgründen gefeuert wurde. Die Gitarre ersetzte dann Gonzo’s Bruder Fredy und als Sänger wurde nach langem Betteln und Flehen doch Lemi behalten. Wir sind schließlich keine Unmenschen.

Zu fünft stellten sich jedoch Proberaumschwierigkeiten ein, welche sich noch erschwerten weil wir alle unheimlich dick wurden. Wir brauchten immer mehr Platz.

An Tiefschläge aller Art gewöhnt, ließen wir uns nicht abschrecken und nahmen das zweite Tape

&#xAngriff der Killerkakerlaken”, ein verkanntes Gesamtkunstwerk auf.

Wir spielten Land auf – Land ab, in Ost und West, oben und unten, und fast überall in halb Österreich. Nur hat’s fast niemand gesehen. Trotzdem, oder gerade deshalb, schafften wir es auf eine kleine und nette Fangemeinde (wenn man das so nennen darf), denen wir hiermit 1000 mal danken wollen, weil sie dem Sänger immer beim „Bullenstaat” singen helfen. Dankeschön!

Die Jahre vergingen, wir wurden älter, schöner und noch dicker und die CD wurde geboren. Die zweittollste CD weltweit hieß „Lärm, Tumult und Trubel” von T.B.C. WHAT?. Sie war sehr schön, sehr rund und sie spiegelte auf der Unterseite. Die Massen waren begeistert! Von Michal Jackson, Tina Turner und den Zillertaler Schürzenjägern.

Wieder verging die Zeit, wir spielten mal hier, mal dort, arbeiteten mal dort, mal da, waren wieder Arbeitslos und das Leben war lustig. Wir unterstützten die Österreichische Alkoholindustrie wo wir nur konnten und waren so manchen Mitelchen nicht abgeneigt. Und aus Trauer über die gesellschaftliche Entwicklung, Niedergeschlagenheit wegen der vielen Toten und vor allem Faulheit, folgte eine Zeit der Unproduktivität. Wir saßen in unserem Proberaum, unterhielten uns über die Welt und unsere Probleme, die vor unseren Augen zu gigantischen Proberaum monstern mutierten und sagten unentwegt „No Problem”. Pausenlos. Kermit, der Bassist wurde inzwischen so dick daß er nicht mehr in den Proberaum paßte und wir mußten ihn entlassen. Er ging mit Tränen in unser aller Augen und in ewig währender Freundschaft. Hallo Kermit!

Nach ihm kam – nach kurzer Vermählung mit Steini – der von uns seit langem hochverehrte und hochgeachtete Stubaier Spitzenmusiker, Herr Hubsi. Ein gewaltiger Bursche von 326 Kilogramm.

Mit ihm rafften wir uns wieder auf und beschlossen wieder eine Kassette aufzunehmen um der viel zu schönen CD den Kampf anzusagen. Wir wollten wieder häßlich, schlecht und dumm sein, was uns wahrscheinlich mit BSE WHAT? ganz gut gelungen ist.

Wir machten nämlich nicht mit beim Verkauf von Punk, der gräßlichen Ausschlachtung aller Ideologien und der Gehirnwäsche durch kleine spiegelnde Scheiben und anderem Zeug.

Nachdem sich dieses Tape mit beinahe atemberaubender Geschwindigkeit verkaufte, war natürlich erstmal Zeit für einen Urlaub jenseits jeden Presserummels, um uns in den leichtverdienten Millionen zu baden.

Bald kamen wir mit leeren Taschen zurück, hungerten eine Weile, und begaben uns – mittlerweile wieder so dünn, daß wir nicht einmal die Tür öffnen mußten – in den Proberaum. Tja, seitdem lungern wir da unten rum, versaufen unser hart erarbeitetes Geld und basteln an einem neuen Meisterwerk, welches hoffentlich bald unter dem Namen „Numero 5″ erscheinen wird. Wir sind jedenfalls guter Dinge und haben noch jede Menge vor.

So schnell werden wir nicht aufgeben, wo unsere Ziele eh nicht allzu hoch gesteckt sind. Ist aber auch egal! Die Vereiskaltung jedes Einzelnen, kann eh nur jeder Einzelne verhindern. Oder so.

The Mist was founded in 2002,from Ritche(g) and Nico(dr).

After a while Marc(g) joined the Band.

Searching for a Leadsinger,they found Oli.

At the Bassguitar there have been a few changes.

But now it`s Danny poppin`the bassguitar.

It`s a Band which combines various metal of the 80`s with a charismatic live performance.

They`ve got earcatching melodies combined with hard riffing.

That`s what the people say who got drawn into The Mist`s spellbound…

Playing Gigs with Bands like Freedom Call and Rage made them a little more popular. They even gained second place playing at “Mosel Open Air” in 2002.

July 1997 — Sao Paulo, Brazil. Talking in a bar, Fernando says to Chicao that one day he would take his drums and would leave it in Chico’s house for them to play. Chicão, which has a bass guitar, doesn’t believe him, but says that’s ok. A few days later, Fernando do leave his drums at Chicao’s, which decides to start learning bass guitar. The guitar player Rogerio Burini Nociti, (or just Roger) joins them to play some songs of their favorite bands, like Metallica, Iron Maiden and Ozzy Osbourne. Later, Tito also joins the band in rhythm guitar.

Aug/Dec. 1997 — Tito go to south region of Brazil and has to leave the band. The remaining members still go on, but are forced to make a break. Fernando and Chicao keep meeting to play once in a while.

Beggining 1998 — WOSLOM is officialy founded with the following line-up: Roger (guitar), Chicao (bass guitar) and Fernando (Drums). Fernando creates the band logo and they start rehearsing all weekends.

May/Dec 1998 — Rehearsals, rehearsals and more rehearsals. Hours and hours of hard work and WOSLOM playing in a few friend’s birthday partys.

Beggining 1999 — The band searches for a rhythm guitar and a vocal. After a lot of (frustrated) auditions, Roger ended up with the vocal and lead guitar functions.

July 1999 — Tito returns to Sao Paulo and re-join the band.

Nov./05 1999 — WOSLOM does his very first “real” concert at Kamelao, a well-know club located in Sao Bernardo/SP. The band plays to an audience of 150 people.

Nov./07 1999 — Tito has to leave WOSLOM (again) and Peri (that once was Roger’s guitar teacher) joins the band.

December 1999 — After missing a lot of rehearsals, Peri is forced to leave the band. Once again, WOSLOM becomes a trio.

Jan./15 2000 — WOSLOM start working on his first demo, produced by Felipe Joares and record in a home-studio in the back of the Pai da Banda instrument store.

March 2000 — Through Rodrigo (Mooshadow’s guitar player), WOSLOM meets Tiago Bechara. A serie of auditions later, Tiago joins WOSLOM on the rhythm guitar.

Mar./31 2000 — WOSLOM plays at Sax’s Bar (or “Boteco do Sofra”). This was the worst live experience of the band ever. Broken amps and multi-effects, besides a terrible performance were the “highlights” of this concert.

Abr./28 2000 — WOSLOM plays for the first time with a band of friend’s called Dead Duck (later Reverterio and more later Mr Joker) at Capone’s Bar, in Sao Bernardo.

Jun./11 2000 — The band plays at a rock contest promoted by Volkana Bar, in Sao Bernardo. WOSLOM takes the second place.

Jun./22 2000 — WOSLOM plays for the first time at Black Jack Bar, in Sao Paulo, with Guns ‘N Roses Cover. An audience of 180 people were in that concert.

Jun./29 2000 — WOSLOM plays for the second (and probably last) time at Capone’s Bar.

Jul./16 2000 — Another eliminatory of Volkana’s bands contest. This time, WOSLOM is eliminated. But Volkana’s owner, Egídio, has a different opinion of the jugdes.

Aug./04 2000 — WOSLOM does the opening act for Moonshadow and Centership at Black Jack Bar.

Aug./06 2000 — WOSLOM plays with Vikings band at Volkana Bar.

August 2000 — Legendary Attempts From Sat Afternoon, the first WOSLOM’s demo is released.

Sep./02 2000 — WOSLOM plays again Black Jack Bar with Guns ‘N Roses Cover. This time, Reunion does the opening act.

Sep./08 2000 — WOSLOM and Guns ‘N Roses Cover keep their partnership and plays together at Volkana Bar.

Oct./09 2000 — Mediate a Warner Music employee, WOSLOM and Guns ‘N Roses Cover are invited to play in Itapecerica da Serra. They play for an 16 people audience (counting the two bands members).

Nov./24 2000 — WOSLOM and Guns ‘N Roses Cover play together at Volkana Bar. More than two hunderd people went to the concert.

Dec./15 2000 — WOSLOM enters the Jaburu studio to record a demo only with Metallica covers. Duda Marsola is the producer.

Jan./05 2001 — Recording and mixing are done and the demo Woslom Remains Metallica is released.

February 2001 — Roger miss a lot of rehearsals and is expelled of the band.

March 2001 — Rodrigo Cesarino (Moonshadow’s guitar player that introduced Tiago Bechara to WOSLOM) joins the band on the lead guitar. They start looking for a frontman.

Apr./Jun. 2001 — WOSLOM decides to take a new musical direction and starts working on some more heavy, straight-forward thrash songs. Diving in this “new style”, the band decides that Legendary Attempts From Sat Afternoon is too “lite” and the songs included in this demo are no longer part of WOSLOM’s set.

Jul./Sep. 2001 — The band does some vocal tests. In the end, Tiago Bechara takes the vocals, besides the rhythm guitar.

October 2001 — Show at Volkana Bar. First concert with Tiago on the vocal.

December 2001 — In the same weekend, WOSLOM plays at Volkana and in Sorocaba city (which was one of the best concerts of the band).

February 2002 — WOSLOM works on new material for their following demo.

April 2002 — The band is invited to play at Megacycle, but due to personal problems they’re forced to cancel the concert.

May/Jun. 2002 — Concerts at Black Jack Bar and Sincinato (Sao Bernardo).

Jul./Sep. 2002 — WOSLOM enters the 624 studio to record another demo, co-produced by Fabiano Penna (ex-Rebaelliun member).

December 2002 — The band plays with Moonshadow and 1853 in an event promoted by Corsarios Motoclub.

March 2003 — The demo From Dark To Light is released, with three new songs.

April 2003 — WOSLOM will participate from “Rock Soldiers Vol 10″ compliant with another heavy/trash bands. The crew will contribute with Growing Pale in the cast.

June 2003 — The Band plays a concert in traditionally Brigade Friday – a party from Rock Brigade Magazine – beside the BIG BAND, in Manifesto Bar (São Paulo).

July 2003 — Rodrigo Cesarino decide left the band. Rafael Iak is called for your place.

August 2003 — Rafael plays his first concert in Central Bar. The Band starts to create new songs for the next Demo.

September 2003 — It’s released the new official website on the web. It’s with an own domain and a profissional design. This site was elaborate and updated by the band.

October 2003 — The band put all your stuff to download on the web, “From Dark To Light”. The band adopt this for future works too, that happend independently, for more divulgation from their work.

October and November 2003 — WOSLOM work in new set list and compositions. The last will be record between december and january.

December 2003 — WOSLOM decide to record the new demo in 624 Produções that will occur in next january.

January and February 2004 — The guys take recorded the demo “Beyond the Inferno”. It will be available soon in march.
